Instructions for Use
The schematically illustrated examples show step-by-step how to set up the Quisco. To start, you can begin with one piece placed between the speakers. The height needs to be determined manually, as every room and every system can react slightly differently. It’s recommended to try positioning it a few centimeters higher or lower. A good starting point might be slightly below the height of the midrange driver. For those who wish to invest more and improve their sound further, the next step (as shown in the second diagram) is to place two pieces on the rear wall behind the speakers. It’s best to start around 50 cm from each corner and then move them inward by 5 cm at a time-you’ll hear when the positioning is optimal. As for the height, begin with around 60 cm from the floor. In some rooms, these two pieces might not be effective on that wall, in which case you can move on to the rear wall where you are seated. The diagram shows the listening position and two units placed there. The height at the back should be about 10 cm above head level. You may want to experiment with slightly higher or lower placement, but we recommend positioning them above your head. This setup will give you a more immersive sound experience-like being in a top-tier concert hall—where sound doesn’t come only from the speakers directly. Other combinations are shown based on our experience. Using 5 pieces results in fantastic sound quality even in larger rooms. For those with a more modest budget, we recommend starting with 3 pieces-one between the speakers, and two at the listening position. The improvement in stereo width and fullness of sound will be immediately noticeable, and the value for the cost is excellent. With more than 5 pieces, you can achieve greater volume, energy, and presence. These can also be placed lower, closer to the floor (about 10-15 cm), to resolve resonances that often disrupt the beauty your system can otherwise present. To summarize: With one piece, you’ll get better control, more energy, and less noise. With three pieces, the soundstage widens, and everything gained with one piece is further enhanced-plus added dynamics. With five pieces, you are entering serious room tuning territory, creating the atmosphere of a live concert. With more than five, you’re fine-tuning the smallest details and addressing the lower part of the room-corners behind the listening position near the floor (10–20 cm high) or even behind furniture, where 30 cm height can often yield excellent results.
